In addition, the life expectancy of the animals has been at least tripled during the last 30-40 years, which is good, but in turn, it brings more health problems into their life for a longer time.

The development of biomarkers for the liquid biopsy using blood, urine or other body fluids is attracting a lot of interest from scientists, and they have achieved considerable advances to detect diseases in the early stage using their technology.
Especially, urine is a good source of the diagnosis because it is filtered by the kidneys therefore, it has a lower protein content, which makes it relatively easier to isolate DNA or RNA material from it compared to blood. This is why urine is the best source for the diagnosis in a non-invasive, painless and easy way. Also, the patients can easily collect their samples at home with whatever medical conditions they may have.
Urine contains a lot of various biometric information. Examples include cancer cells, disease-associated metabolites, and cell-free DNA/RNA. In particular, many are interested in exosomes for biomarker developments since they contain DNA/RNA, miRNA, circulating RNA, proteins, and peptides.
